You MUST submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application to be considered. The application can be found at http s://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Look at this handsome boy!! Manchester is part of the British Soccer Litter. We call him Chester for short:-). He is a 4 month old, 25 lb. terrier mix puppy. He was found with his siblings living under an abandoned trailer in a rural county. He is loving and affectionate and will make a very loyal companion. He will probably be around 60 lbs when full grown. Chester can be timid at first meeting but once he is comfortable he is super friendly. Chester loves to play with his foster dog siblings. He would do great in a home with or without furry siblings. I do not know how Chester will do with cats, but he is so laid back I don’t think this would be a problem. He has not been around children, but he’s so calm I can’t imagine this would be a problem either. Chester is very quiet. I have not heard him bark yet! He is almost housebroken, just a little bit more time and he will be there. He is still a puppy so I have been taking him out every hour for potty training. Chester is great on a leash so a fenced yard would be a nice to have thing but not necessary. Chester is completely crate trained. At night he sleeps in his crate in my bedroom. Chester is very laid back for a puppy. Right now Chester's favorite thing to do is chew. This is very typical for a puppy, always using his mouth to discover the world and figure things out. But one can't forget he is a puppy that chews on things that he shouldn't so he needs to be watched for his safety. Chester is going to make someone a great loyal friend. He follows me everywhere. He is very affectionate, loving and smart. He maintains eye contact very well and learns fast. Since he is so smart and focused, he should go through training classes to get to his potential. He will make someone a great lovable loyal companion. Applicants should live within an hours drive from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. Any adopter must be able to travel to Raleigh for any and all medical care before Chester is neutered between 4-6 months of age. Our fosters also deliver their dogs to the adopters home. So living a reasonable distance is required.
Any children in the home under 6 years old ideally should have experience being around dogs. Puppies can nip, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children.
