All dogs on our website require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you an be considered for or meet any of our dogs.   The link to our application is in the dogs bio below.

Maggie is a very friendly older puppy.  She is not timid around people.  She is excited to greet everyone and wants attention.  Maggie is wonderful with other dogs.  She lives with two other dogs, and another dog comes to play on occassion.  She is good with all of them.  She can annoy older dogs at first with her puppy enthusiasm, but she quickly learns who wants to play and who doesn't.

She does not currently live with cats.  But Maggie should be fine with cats as she's not an aggressive puppy.  But she will probably want to play with them so they will need to be dog savy cats.

Maggie is great around children.  She has had exposure to a toddlerand she is great with him.   She has not nipped him or scratched him even though she is 10 pounds bigger than him.   She is good with toddler grabbing and pulling and loves to be around my grandson.   They have even napped together.

Maggie is typically quiet but she can be a barker at times.  She will let you know when she is in her crate and she needs to go outside.  She will also bark outside when she wants to come in and she will bark when she's playing with other dogs.  She is, however, quite during the night in her crate.

Maggie is almost totally housebroken.  She does not have accidents in her crate as long as she's given ample opportunities to get outside.

Maggie can fluctuate from being low level in her crate or around the house but she does have her bursts of energy and loves to run around and play outside.  She loves to chase my other dogs around the yard and will also get her zoomies in the house when playing.  But with appropriate exercise, she is a wonderful house dog.  She's has not chewed anything in the house other than her dog toys, which is amazing for a puppy.

Maggie will be a larger dog with a lot of energy.  She will either need a fenced yard or many opportunities during the day to get her exercise. She is fine going into her crate.  She is crated at night to sleep, although she has also slept in the bed with my other dogs.  She is also in her crate anytime I leave the house or anytime I can't activley supervise her. Just throw a treat into the crate and she goes right in.

Maggie has been fine being left at home in her crate, but she does have the company of two other dogs around.   She has barked a bit when I leave the house and she will bark with excitement when I come back home.

Maggie does really well with leash walking.  She's not been a dog that pulls.  We've gone for long walks (2 miles) and she loves to walk.

She loves to cuddle.  If she sleeps in the bed she falls asleep right up against me.  She loves to play with other dogs.  She loves to take walks.   She has been good riding in the car.   She likes her chew toys.  She enjoys chasing other dogs around the yard.

With enough attention and stimulation, I believe Maggie would be happy as an only dog.  Although she would love a canine friend. She will not be happy and she has too much energy to just be an inside dog with just an occassional walk.  She needs to get out and get exercise as she is a larger dog and has energy to burn.

Because she barks on occasion and will be a large, energetic dog, she may not be a good fit for apartment living.  We will consider each application to find the right fit.

Maggie will make a wonderful family companion for the right family.  She will be a larger dog and will need opportunities during the day to burn off her energy.  She's been great with other dogs, great with little kids.  She's a good walker, loves to be outside.  She's not shown any signs of anxiety with thunder or loud noises.  She's been good riding in the car, although she needs some encouragement to initially go in.  She's a very low maintenance puppy as long as she can work off her energy outside.

Please consider making Maggie a part of your family.  You will not be disappointed and will have a friend for life!
