Gizmo is very friendly and likes all people and most dogs. He thinks he is the king of the jungle! He will charge right up face to face to even very large dogs barking and growling. He has that little dog attitude! Once he knows a dog, things will settle down. He is currently living with another dog and does fine.
Gizmo has lived with a cat in the past. With slow introductions, he should do OK with a cat who is dog savvy. We are not sure how he will do with young children. He is housebroken and crated trained although Gizmo is fine being loose in the house.
He definitely will let you know if someone is approaching the house. So he may not be appropriate for apartment life where there would be a lot of activity and noise outside the apartment door.
He is used to having a person around. So ideally he would do best in the same type environment. If he was left alone all day, he might be very lonely and get into mischief. He would do fine as an only dog assuming is human was home with him.
Gizmo likes our fenced yard. He likes to run around and sniff things and pick his own special place to take care of business. A fence would be a convenience for the owner but a short leash walk will be plenty for Gismo. He has a manageable heart condition, so short walks will be fine. He likes to sit by you while watching TV or resting. He likes getting an occasional pat on the head or back.
Gismo has a great personality and a playful funny, attitude. His low energy would match well with a low energy person who would like a companion but not a clingy lap dog. He is on heart meds for life and pulse dental antibiotics. BFPA will share all medical information to anyone who is interested in providing a new home for him. Gizmo's current owner will provide some of the meds he is taking also.
