If you are interested in sweet Aspen, you MUST submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application on our website and be approved prior to being considered. Here is the link to our application. https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. It can also be found with Forrest's bio on bfpa.org.
Aspen is part of a nine puppy litter that was found in a basket on the side of the road. They were taken to a shelter and Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in to find forever homes for all of them. They are currently living in foster homes and learning what life is like being an inside dog and being loved.
Aspen is a happy, fun loving puppy who is getting ready to explore the world. He can't wait to find out what life has in store for him! He will be 8 weeks old soon and will be having his first vet visit and set of vaccines. Approved applicants can meet Aspen now but he cannot start an adoption trial until 12/16. Do you want a puppy to brighten your house? NOTE: Puppies cannot be given as surprise Christmas gifts. They will be part of the family and therefore all family members must meet Aspen before starting an adoption.
Puppies can nip and bite and may not be appropriate for young children who are not aware of this trait that all puppies go though. He will need to be housebroken and taken outside on a regular basis. Adopters who are not home during the day will need to have a plan which includes how to manage potty breaks. Since he will only have one set of vaccines, the adopter will need a home that has their own yard. He cannot live in multi-family buildings where he would be sharing common space where other dog may have been. He will still be susceptible to diseases until his second set of vaccines and cannot take potty breaks where other unknown dogs may have walked.
Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants ideally should live within 30-60 minutes of Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being being finalized after they are altered at 4-6 months old. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live locally. We will consider approved applicants as far as an hours drive of Cary if they agree to bring their puppy to the Cary/Apex/Raleigh area for all medical care until the adoption is finalized.
