Are you looking for a cute and small puppy? Please read about Gene. He might be your new buddy! Gene is a chihuahua mix who is almost 4 months old and weighs 9 lbs (mid-April). He should remain a smaller sized dog. Gene is incredibly silly and loving. He even has a heart on his tummy to prove it. He loves people, squeaky toys, his Nylabones, and zoomies. He would love a fenced yard to run around in. If he doesn't have a fenced yard, he will need to get his exercise in the house or on walks since he does have a lot of energy. He might be too energetic for young children but older children should be OK. Gene is crated trained and if taken out on a regular schedule, he won't have any accidents in the house. He gets along fine with other dogs. Gene wants to play with the cat in his foster home. So might be OK with a dog savvy cat. He is very loving and wants nothing better than curling up with his human. Gene may not be appropriate in a multifamily setting. When he is upset, he can be vocal. He is very food motivated and a fast learner. Would you like to meet this sweet boy?
