Puppy time! If you are looking for the perfect new family member, look no further! The link to the Best Friend Pet Adoption application is : https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Astra's name suits her - she's a shooting star! She's intelligent, friendly and has an independent streak. Astra likes all humans and will greet them with excited kisses and wiggles. She loves to follow her foster kitty siblings around the house so will do well with a dog savvy cat. She's wonderful with her foster dog siblings who are much bigger than her. Astra is one smart cookie! She is already learning some basic commands and will be easy to train since she is extremely treat/food motivated. Astra loves obstacles and tunnels! She passes back and forth through kitty tunnels like a pro, wriggles underneath coffee tables, and bounces over taller objects with ease. Her smarts and talent, combined with proper training, would make her an excellent dog for agility sports! Right now she has a pretty typical puppy schedule - potty, zooming around, potty, eat, potty, sleep, potty, repeat. As long as she's gotten a chance to run and play several times a day she settles nicely in her puppy pen. She sleeps in her pen. She is doing great with housebreaking! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Astra was part of a litter that was surrendered to a shelter when they were 6 weeks old. Best Friend Pet Adoption wanted to provide good homes for these sweet girls so admitted them into our rescue. We were told their Mom was a German Shepherd but if so, the Dad was probably a lab since the puppies look to be lab mixes.
