Berry requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can meet her in her foster home. The link to the application is: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Look up “puppy eyes” in the dictionary and you will see Berry. Don’t be fooled by her preciously pitiful expressions, though — she is a joyful, friendly little girl who loves being with and playing with dogs and people. She is a snuggler and is in heaven when she’s napping in your lap or on the couch by your side. She loves running and wrestling in the leaves outside with our older dog and with her brother. Berry would love to live with another friendly dog to play with and to keep her company! She is very treat-motivated and will do well with good training. Good news....Barry is almost entirely potty trained! She will whine to let you know when it’s time to go outside. She does not particularly enjoy a crate or being left alone. She is not currently crate trained, but she goes happily into her little enclosed puppy pen where her bed is whenever it’s time to sleep. It only took a day or two of a predictable routine where she knew her way around and what to expect (a soft warm bed, good food, and lots of cuddles, kisses, and love) for her to settle in beautifully. Berry truly is a love bug who deserves all the kisses and cuddles, so won’t you please be her Valentine? Puppies can nip and play bite, so may not be appropriate for young children. Puppies usually will bark and cry when left alone. So apartments or townhomes with shared walls may be an issue for neighbors. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Berry and her littermates were dumped in a rural area, found and taken to a shelter. They are all in loving, warm foster home now. Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian in Apex/Cary for ALL medical care prior to adoptions being finalized when a dog is spayed or neutered when 6 months of age. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
