IMPORTANT FIRST STEP. Terry requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can meet him in his foster home. The link to the application is: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. Terry (we call him Teddy, as in Bear, because he is just so cuddly!) is as soft as a cloud and patient as a monk. He has a calm and gentle demeanor, but speaks his mind when he needs to. He bore his first bath with quiet dignity, and slowly wore down the defenses of my older dog — who loves playing, but prefers to sleep alone. Now she lets him sleep on top of her! He loves being held like a baby and receiving tummy rubs, and because he is so patient and sweet, I think he would do well with a family - even those with smaller children - or older friend. He loves playing outside with his sister and our older dog. I think he’d be equally happy in a home with other pets to play with or as an only dog. He will ask to go outside with a polite little whine, and is almost completely trained to go to the bathroom outside. He is treat-motivated and trainable! Although not currently crate trained, he and his sister happily go to their little pen to sleep at nap times and at night. A perfect pup! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Terry and his littermates were dumped in a rural area, found and taken to a shelter. They are all in loving, warm foster home now. Please consider giving Terry a forever home where he will bring you much joy. Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. We prefer to adopt puppies into single family home. Puppies can cry and bark when left alone and would not do well in residences with shared walls unless a human is home most of the day. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
