STATUS: Accepting applications PERSONALITY TRAITS: She is a snuggler and very laid back. She is her most content just curled up on the couch next to you. ~DOB: 3+ years old WEIGHT: 13 lbs HEALTH STATUS (UTD on shots? on HW & flea/tick preventative?): UTD on shots. HW neg. on HW and flea/tick preventative SPAYED OR NEUTERED: spayed MICROCHIPPED:yes AROUND DOGS: Gets along great with other dogs. I don't know if we've ever had another dog blend so effortlessly into our little pack. AROUND CATS: Very healthy respect for cats. Cutest thing I ever saw was her introduction to our cats. The cats came close to check her out. She took one look at them and then took a wide path around them. She knows about claws and doesn't want to feel their wrath! AROUND CHILDREN: We haven't exposed her to really young kids yet. HOUSEBROKEN: As with any small dog and dogs in a new place with new people, there have been some accidents, but overall she's very good CRATETRAINED: She does well in a crate but would rather sleep with you under the covers. LEASH MANNERS: Sorry we don't know yet, but we've only carried her during leash opportunities. You will find yourself treating her like a small child more than a dog. Will update when we try it. CAR RIDES: She does well in the car. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Ryleigh has just about everything that anyone looking for a small dog could want. She desperately wants a mommy and/or daddy, not an owner. She is very mellow and always wants to sit right next to you. She really loves sleeping in bed with you. She even prefers being under the covers and has done some pretty funny stuff to get there. Ryleigh has everyone stumped on her age. She has the mellowness of an older dog but her body condition and teeth say that she is still a kid. Personally I feel that a rough life has prematurely aged her because we already see changes in her. Bottom line is that she is fantastic, I'd keep her if I could, and you will be very lucky if you take her home! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ryleigh was dropped at the Person County shelter so nothing is known about her previous life. By the third day when her hold was up, she was so scared that she was beginning to be paralyzed by fear. The shelter was desperate to find a rescue. BFPA was able to take her in, and she is rediscovering how happy she can be! Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.
