FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: When we first met Darcy, she was a bit nervous and we could tell she hadnât been taught much by her former humans. However, in a very short time she has warmed up to be a very sweet, loving dog and a quick learner. Darcy loves the other dogs in our home, and fit right in to our group. She would probably be happiest in a home with other pets.
She is very gentle with the children in the home. She is housetrained and lets us know if she has to go out. She has already learned basic commands and is eager to please. Continued training would help to keep building her confidence. She is happy and playful, but calm for a puppy her age. She is a little timid at first, but once she gets to know you, she shows you what a wonderful and affectionate dog she is.
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Darcy, her sister Demi and 5 other dogs were pulled from an overcrowded, rural shelter. Staff at the shelter reached out for help after a hoarding case created a huge issue for them. The shelter had only 14 already full pens, when over 44 dogs were brought in with Darcy and Demi among them. Darcy is now thriving with the attention in her foster home and is patiently waiting for her forever home.
