SPAYED OR NEUTERED: Spayed MICROCHIPPED: Yes AROUND DOGS: A little quiet at first, but warms up. AROUND CATS: Sadie is scared of cats and does not approach them. She would be fine with a cat in the household. AROUND CHILDREN: Great with teenaged children. She is unsure at first and needs to be introduced slowly. Once they have gained her trust, she is comfortable and loves them. HOUSEBROKEN: Yes CRATETRAINED: Yes LEASH MANNERS: Good CAR RIDES: In training and doing well. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Sadie is a great family dog. I believe she was not socialized with many people or other animals, so she is nervous at first. She has warmed up to my family and all of our pets. She will back away from people upon first meetings, they just need to be patient with her until she is comfortable. Sadie knows several basic commands. She enjoys running around in our backyard and now plays as if one of the pack with my 2 dogs. We will continue dog daycare (once a week) to help socialize her with other people and dogs. The Pooch Pad said she did great on her first day with them. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Sadie was adopted from a shelter two years ago when she was a puppy. Her family was relocated to China and unable to take her with them. They reached out to BFPA and we were happy to admit this sweet and gentle dog into our program.
