STATUS: Patches has been adopted by Beth and Doug Biette, their son Sean and their cat AllieCat -- all of Cary.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Playful, curious, smart
~DOB: March 2014
WEIGHT: We project Patches will weight 30lbs. as an adult.
HEALTH STATUS: Patches is UTD on all vaccinations -- including rabies -- and is on monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventatives.
SPAYED OR NEUTERED: Spayed.
MICRO CHIPPED: Yesy
AROUND DOGS: Great. Sheâs very playful and considers all dogs her playmate.
AROUND CATS: Fine
AROUND CHILDREN: Sheâs great. We were in Home Depot and she met 3 children (approximate ages 6, 5 and 3). She went right up to them for petting and gave them loads of kisses.
HOUSEBROKEN: Yes
CRATETRAINED: Yes
LEASH MANNERS: Fine
CAR RIDES: Patches loves going where you go. She has learned she can look out the windows to view the world go by. Otherwise, she naps while the car is in motion.
FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Patches is a typical curious puppy. She is interested in everyone and everything. Her foster home also has 3 medium sized older dogs so weâre working on teaching her the correct way to meet another dog without being growled at. She is very smart and has caught on very quickly with her leash walking.
The crate training is still a work in progress. She has been sleeping in the crate in her foster momâs room but sheâs not a âfanâ of being in the crate. After a few minutes of whining, she does settle down and sleep.
In the morning, she goes out to potty and is then returned to the crate until the household gets up for the day.
Patches would be a welcome addition to any active family.
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Patches and another young terrier mix were taken from the Montgomery Shelter. These 2 little girls were both an owner surrender along with 2 other dogs. The Animal Control Officer was not able to provide any additional information about these dogs.
