FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Abbey has opened up in her foster home, becoming a very loving and affectionate girl. She enjoys going in the back yard and playing with the other dogs living there. In the evenings Abbey can be found hanging around in the living room with them, and at bedtime Abbey will sleep through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. Abbey can become a little uneasy when company comes into the house, so new environments/people will be a bit of a challenge for her. However, while it might take her a while to adapt to new situations, once she feels comfortable Abbey will become very attached and loving of her new person. Given time Abbey will be a fabulously loyal, loving, and grateful pet! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:Abbey and her sister Gabby were rescued from a high kill shelter when they were quite young. They were extremely frightened and appear to have been abused by their original owner. The rescuer originally boarded them at a country vet's office before reaching out to BFPA for help. Thankfully the two young dogs were placed in caring BFPA foster homes. Gabby is currently on an adoption trial. Abbey hopes to find her forever home soon, with caring owners who will be patient and understanding.
