GINGER'S PHOTO GALLERY STATUS: Accepting applications PERSONALITY: Ginger (Ginny) is very sweet and gentle. Her playful side is starting to show a little. She is a leaner and loves to be petted. ~DOB: February 2002 WEIGHT: 92 lbs HEALTH: Ginger will be UTD on all vaccinations and monthly preventatives before her adoption is finalized. She is being treated for heartworms and may have a malignant tumor on her foot. Further tests were not done because due to the lump's location, removal is not possible. Ginger spent the first 11 years of her life on the end of a chain. Due to her life-long lack of exercise, she is a bit wobbly on her feet, but she gets around just fine in her foster home. STERILIZED: Ginger will be spayed before her adoption is finalized. MICROCHIPPED: Ginger will be microchipped before her adoption is finalized. DOGS: Ginger is relaxed and friendly, even around the young dog in her foster home who often barks at her in close quarters. CHILDREN: Seems to love the neighbor's elementary-aged children. HOUSEBROKEN: In training and doing well. CRATETRAINED: In training LEASH MANNERS: In training CAR RIDES: OK FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Ginger is a quiet girl who just wants to be close to people, loves to be petted and seems ecstatic just for a chance to sit on the couch. Ginger is blossoming for the first time in her life thanks to her loving foster family. She's adapting well to being an "inside" dog and enjoys relaxing with her foster brother, Val. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Ginger lived her entire life on a chain, and when she finally broke that chain she immediately ran into a nearby house as if it was her own. She spent the night in that house, playing with the owner's children and dogs. When Ginger ventured to her rescuer's house the next day, she gently nudged her rescuer's hand and leaned into her leg as if to ask for a scratch behind the ears. Ginger's rescuers found her owner, who quickly gave her up no questions asked. BFPA was happy to admit Ginger so that she can spend the rest of her life in loving comfort.
