HOUSEBROKEN: Yes CRATETRAINED: Yes LEASH MANNERS: Skittish but working on leash training. She does great with other dogs to follow, but a little unsure when she is walked by herself. CAR RIDES: Good FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Are you looking for a “gem”? Then you’ve found her! This little nugget is the best natured dog we’ve ever fostered. When she first came to us, she was timid around people, but took to the other 4 dogs in our house like they were her best friends! She is quiet, likes to be scratched and wants nothing more than to be with you. She likes to chew on her toys and has not yet demonstrated any interest in fetching. She will start out sleeping on the dog bed next to us at night, but we often wake up and she’s made herself at home as close to us as she can get. She is crate trained, but that is not needed. She is content to sleep or chew on her toys when we are away. She is a sweetie and would make a perfect pet for anyone. She would do fine in almost any home with or without other pets. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Gemma was pulled from a rural shelter where a local citizen found her wandering alone. She was brought to the shelter but no owner came to claim her.
