FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Walter is one handsome and sweet boy! He is very calm, friendly and loving. Walter enjoys a long walk and loves to play frisbee! He is fully house trained and has amazing leash manners. He is also very calm and relaxed during car rides. Walter is very cuddly and loves to be pet, scratched and generally welcomes any kind of attention from his humans. Walter is the definition of a "gentle giant," he is so relaxed and laid back most of the time. We feel that he would do well in a home with another dog (preferably female) or he would also be happy to be the only canine "child" in the house. Although a fenced in yard is desirable, as Walter loves to play fetch, we think he would also do well in a home without a yard provided he gets to go on long walks and plenty of adventures! Walter is most deserving of finding hi forever home and a loving family of his own. In return, he will shower his people with love and affection!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Walter was once someone's loyal pet, but was found wandering in the road abandoned and confused. A Good Samaritan found him and took him into her home, but after much searching, his owner was never found. With several dogs of her own, she was unable to keep him, so she surrendered him to a small rural shelter. Walter languished at the shelter, overlooked and sad. As the shelter was over-crowded, Walter was due to be PTS. BFPA found out about his plight and rushed to save Walter and three other dogs (Gemma, Gabby & Griffin) who were also in danger. Walter is now waiting patiently to find his real forever family.
