FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Tarna is a gentle and sweet girl who loves everyone she meets.  She is receiving basic training so she knows how to properly greet people and receive attention and is making great progress everyday in her foster home.  She is laid back most of the time but still loves to romp in yard with her foster brother George, they especially like playing tug of war and keep away.   Tarna would do best with a fenced in yard, as she is part husky and huskies are known to run off if given the chance!  Huskies are also know to have a high prey drive and Tarna is no exception.  She loves to chase birds, squirrels or any small creatures.  Thes could also be driven by her days as a stray and fending for herself to find food.  Huskies are also known to overheat easily due to their double coat so she needs to primarily be an inside dog.  She stays in her crate during the day and sleeps on a dog bed at night. She loves the company of other dogs her size so a companion would be wonderful for Tarna.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Tarna was pulled from a rural NC shelter and was found as a stray by Animal Control.  We believe she might have gotten away from someone and appears to have no behavioral issues from being mistreated in the past.
