FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Isabel had a rough start but that hasn’t affected her very sweet temperament. She gets along with all other dogs and loves small children. She is eager to please and is intelligent, so she will likely excel at the training you provide. Isabel is a little shy and prefers women to men but she is slowly coming out of her shell as she gains confidence in her surroundings and those people in her life. She is an incredibly sweet and loving girl who can't wait to find her forever family!

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Isabel was rescued from a shelter in Kenansville, NC just days before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She may not have looked like much, especially due to the demodectic mange (not transferable) she was suffering from that caused major hair loss, and her gaunt appearance. But her personality shone through and she was very luckily saved by some caring volunteers and brought into the BFPA organization. Although her life before the shelter is unknown for sure, she appears to have lived as a stray, never knowing the comforts of a warm, dry home and steady, reliable meals. Isabel is quickly learning about the perks of indoor living and is thriving in her foster home.
