STATUS: Accepting Applications PERSONALITY TRAITS: Fun, Playful, Smart ~DOB: December 2015 WEIGHT: We estimate Gator will be around 50 lbs full grown HEALTH STATUS: UTD on vaccines and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventives SPAYED OR NEUTERED: Neutered MICROCHIPPED: Yes AROUND DOGS: Good AROUND CATS: Untested but we can safely cat test if needed AROUND CHILDREN: Good HOUSEBROKEN: Yes CRATETRAINED: Yes LEASH MANNERS: Good CAR RIDES: Does well in the car FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Gator can be shy at first but comes out of his shell really easily. He adores children and other dogs. He is doing excellent on working on training with positive reinforcement and is learning "sit", "stay", "come" and "down". He is fully potty trained and is an exceptional dog. Though he is an active puppy, his energy level is not excessive and he is very well behaved. He has a huge heart and loves being a puppy! He hasn't met any kitties, but given that he loves all animals he comes in contact with, he would likely be okay with cats. We can safely cat test him if needed. He absolutely loves other dogs and they really help him come out of his shell. Gator will make a wonderful addition to his forever home! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Gator was found in rural eastern NC. He was dumped out on a very secluded road and picked up by his foster mom who reached out to BFPA for help. We were happy to admit this sweet pup to our program to help him on his journey to find his forever family. ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to a single, couple or family who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING GATOR?
